Louis Vuitton Singapore City Guide EN – $37 USD
While digging through the website, I discovered that Louis Vuitton has a huge travel book collection. I had no idea they were even a player in this market! Under their “Art of Living” category they have a wide variety of hard cover books from historic Catwalks, Travellers Tales, City Guides, Postcards, Historic Non Fiction to Reviews of Historic Fashion Pieces. In addition to their hard cover literature, LV also has a wide range of agendas and notebooks with your choice of fashionable covers. All literature has a dual purpose of functionality and art. Any number of these could make a beautiful center piece on a table or bookcase, but they also have incredible photography that comes to life off the pages. Take for example the “Fashion Eye” collection. This collection of travel books has partnered with a single artist for each book. In a selection of images, the individual artist depict the specific city from their own view and artistic perspective. One of my favorites (that i was considering to buy as the Fabulous Find for the LV Edition) was the “Fashion Eye British Columbia”. I lived in BC, Canada for nearly 20 years. This travel guide ($62 USD) has incredible images in northern BC of whisks of snow moving like sand. With images so crisp, you can feel the cold air of the geography.
Instead I picked the Singapore City Guide (english version) as I lived in Singapore for less than a year for my studies. Although the pages themselves are quite thin, the content is very much full of legitimate recommendations that are useful. Aka this isn’t just a book to keep on your coffee table and not read. The City Guide covers:
- The City and Its Neighborhoods
- The Essentials
- Hotels
- Restaurants
- Bars, Cafes, and Tearooms
- Nightlife
- A Sense of Style
- Interior Cachet
- Arts and Culture
- The Scenic Route
- Louis Vuitton’s Guide for Travellers
- Notes
- Indexes
As someone that experienced Singapore first hand, I will say this guide was spot on for some key essentials, hots spots and setting expectations. Although it may have missed a couple of less fancy tidbits like “shewing gum is illegal and spitting it on the ground or selling it has significant fines”.
Finally, each City Guide does have an app version that can be downloaded on the Apple Store for $8.99 USD. Both the app and hard cover City Guides come in multiple languages for a truly international audience. Personally, I like the physically book best. Its the perfect size, has a flexible hard cover to fit in your carry on, and is a great conversation piece at your coffee table at home! (Oh and thank you LV for remembering the stickers!)
One negative from the whole experience – NO SAMPLES! Most luxury brands provide samples on any and all orders, so definitely a little disappointed I couldn’t add anything to my samples collection from Louis Vuitton.

“Its the perfect size, has a flexible hard cover to fit in your carry on, and is a great conversation piece at your coffee table at home”.
Website Overview
Like Chanel, Louis Vuitton has disabled the functionality to be able to sort items by price. Which as always, makes finding the cheapest and most interesting item a little more of a challenge. Apart from the the website is easy to navigate. Broken up into main categories of New Collections, Women, Men, Art of Living and Magazine. I will say there was some duplicated items listed under both “Women” and “Men” like some of the wallets and accessories. Key things that I noticed were no make up sections and absolutely no non-book items below $190 USD.
