Polène Trio Coin Purse (Red Monochrome) – $35 USD
Luxury fashion usually entails classics and legacy brands that have a long standing history. Well looks like there may be a new kid on the block. Polène has made its rounds on social media over the last few years. I believe the first time I heard of it was roughly 5 years ago when a girl I follow on instagram received a bag from her boyfriend. Polène has really been pushed an image of being the more affordable luxury option while maintaining great quality. Clumped in the same category as Telfar and Senreve. With prices comparable to Coach, and quality potential even higher… or so I heard.
I ordered Trio Coin Purse in the color red monochrome. My order arrived DHL within a couple of days with complimentary shipping. For ever design, Polène has multiple color options. With 90% of the time all colors of one style costing the same.
I have a few problems with both the coin purse and the unboxing experience:
- Part of being a luxury brand usually entails a luxury experience when opening your package. I wouldn’t describe a single yellow envelope and single white box (without any tissue paper) as luxurious.
- When looking at the side of the purse with the “Polène” logo, the dimensions looks lopsided. As if one side is short than the other or as if one side had tighter stitching than the other.
- Return Policy – no free returns outside of France. And with a 15 day limit to return while having to manually submit the request through an email address for the correct return documentation that gave me an uneasy feeling.
That being said, I will give credit where credit is due. The length of the coin purse is enough that I can comfortable insert and take out credit cards without having to play the angle-game with the zipper.
Website Overview
Polène probably has one of my favorite website of any of the brands that I’ve reviewed so far. I would compare it to the color scheme of Hermès with a slightly increased font size of YSL. They website was very easy to navigate. Its clear. You have a bag type and then a picture of all the colors they come in. Some bags have mini or nano options, but apart from that its fairly straight forward.
I will also add their customer service was very quick to respond, when I accidentally ordered the wrong color. They responded within a couple of hours of my email.
What I didn’t appreciate is that some bags didn’t have pictures of what the inside of the bags looked like. While yes I appreciated the 360 views, I do want to know what the interior of the bags look like to. Additionally, it didn’t look like they had a place for reviews on their website. (Which I use religiously when shopping online).
