Fabulous Finds – Chloé Edition

I never really thought much of Chloé as a brand. The products seemed to be well made and good quality, but a little muted. Lacked sparkle. That WAS my impression until I did a little research.

What I mistakenly saw as muted was in fact their approach to an “ultra-feminine aesthetic”. Chloé appreciates quality, function and the feminine touch. And I can appreciate that. They also have partnered with organizations like UNICEF and the UN to support causes like STEM for Girls and the Women Empowerment Principals. Something that I haven’t seem from any other major luxury brands.

On their website, they have two brands – Chloé and SeeByChloé. After some quick googling, it seems like the SeeByChloé brand is meant to target a younger demographic. And based on their products, i don’t think “younger” means “teenager”. I would categorize the two styles as mature woman vs. young lady. They even seem to have similar items that are styled slightly differently based on the category. The big difference is price. SeeByChloé is substantially more affordable. And although I only purchased a cosmetic bag, the quality does not feel cheap in any form or fashion. I am sure some shortcuts are taken especially on higher value items, but I truly don’t believe SeeByChloé is meant to be the outlet version of Chloé. (Like Coach outlets vs. boutique, where the quality is still good at the outlet but visibly different).

My favorite part of this order was the base of the cosmetic bag. Which oddly enough – wasn’t even pictured on their website! SeeByChloé put two thick pieces of leather on the base that lets the bag stand on its own while full without slouching and this helps to retain form over time. And because its two separate pieces, not one large one – the bag can still fold flat if needed! So innovative. I love it.
