Fabulous Finds – Loewe Edition

Craft is the essence of Loewe. At least that’s what I read on their website! Jokes aside, based on my research I think its fair to say that Loewe combines traditional quality leathermaking and modern design. Their main focus is the quality each art piece they create. Many of their bags and accessories are handcrafted and therefore no single item is the same. Personally, I don’t like the basket bag trend that hit the fashion stages this year, but I would 100% be honored to own and sport one of the Basket Bags in palm leaf and calfskin from Loewe.

When looking at Loewe overall in the market, I would categorize them under “quiet luxury fashion” with brands like Brunello Cucinelli or The Row. Although their logo can be fairly prominent on some of their bags and accessories, it looks more like a beautiful design than a showy logo like the Chanel CC or Gucci GG. Also its not a luxury brand that has been overdone and splashed all across Instagram. Their pieces are understated, great quality and functional. Something that I think is key when working with leather.

Out of all the Fabulous Finds I have found so far, I would say a Loewe’s leather bags are number 1 on my wish list! Either the Amazona 28 Bag in soft grained calfskin or the Anagram Tote Bag in jacquard and calfskin – both are under $3,000 USD. Which compared to a Dior Cloth Tote, Prada Nylon Bag, or Chanel Double Flap is a steal! As an additional positive – shipping was super fast and free! And how cute is the packaging is the cloth bag?!

In the spirit of fairness, I do have a couple of negatives. Their website has a couple of bugs, specifically when it comes their filters and sort by options. When sorting by price, the website lags ALOT and sometimes completely freezes or doesn’t actually sort anything. Also, since alot of their pieces are sold out, its even more frusterating that their “show in stock only” filter doesn’t work. Finally, the website shows pieces that are only available for sale in store. Items like their candle collection. Considering that Loewe is a quiet luxury fashion brand, they don’t have a store in every major city. But I guess the price of luxury sometimes includes a plane ticket!
