Fabulous Finds – Longchamp Edition

Longchamp Silk Scarf (Eiffel Tower) – $85 USD

I absolutely love Longchamp. It is one of my favorite brands. Oddly enough my collection started completely by accident. My grandma had two Le Pliage Original Top Handle Bags (one medium in green and one small in blue) sitting on her dinner table on its way out with a bunch of donations. She had had it regifted to her from a friend, who got it from her daughter! And my grandma thought it was such an ugly bag that I wouldn’t want it – so she lumped it in with her donations! Thankfully I saved both those beautiful bags and the green one has travelled the world with me as one of my go-to travel purses!

I find it interesting that Longchamp doesn’t always come immediately to mind when people thing luxury. Yes their Le Pliage Original line is made of super-light nylon, but they have higher end lines that are made out of buttery-soft leather. And regardless of what the material is, each item receives the same level of attention when it comes to assembly and stitching. These bags are made to last.

So when I started scouring the Longchamp website I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had expanded into accessories, shoes and ready-to-wear. One piece that stood out to me was the Silk Scarfs from their 2021 Spring-Summer Collection. First off, they are 100% silk and unlike their competitors, these scarfs aren’t priced at $400 or more! Also, the designs and colors are mesmerizing. I personally luxury scarfs should be considered and treated as pieces of art.

Longchamp provided free shipping and free gift wrapping, which is always a plus! So I got my husband the Parapluie Homme Retractable Umbrella for $85 USD. It expands and contracts at the push of a button and the leather handle is such a great touch. C’est magnifique!

Website Overview

Longchamp has a huge collection. And while there are lots of category and product types, there is very little duplication of items from category to category. While you can’t search “all women’s bags”, it is very simple to search by price, style, material or size in a specific collection (ie. Le Pliage Original Line). When it comes to product pages, I would give Longchamp 9 out of 10. The product pages have thorough descriptions, size measurements, material, caring instructions and many images. The one thing a few are missing are photos of the interior of the bags. Personally, I don’t think Longchamp cheaps out on the inside material of their bags. I just wish they would show them off online.
